The
Phoenicians believed that the island was sacred by the Gods due
to the fact that there weren't any animals, such as reptiles and
insects, or plants on the island capable to kill a man. Even today
it is a practice among the island people to wear amulets containing
the soil of the land of Eivissa.
The vegetation on the island is rigorous, and during springtime
there is an explosion of almond, lemon and orange tree blossom.
One of the thing you'll remember
about Eivissa is the incredible number of beaches and little gulfs
that you'll find wherever you'll go.
Even in the most crowded period of the year,
you'll be always able to find your own little desert paradise! The
sea is one of the cleanest of all over the Mediterranean. Almost
all the beaches of the island are fully equipped, so you'll be able
to relax in the sun or practice a sport in the full comfort, with
the chance of tasting the fabulous cooking of Eivissa in the small
restaurants that you can always find wherever you'll go.
