Approaching
from the sea the Cinque Terre presents itself like a colourful painting
wedged between the steep rocks and the blue waters which reflect
the immaculate sky above.
Fortunately the hand of man has
not managed to touch the profile of the mountains in which the Cinque
Terre have been guests for hundreds of years; they have turned their
backs on the fast paced, modern port city of La Spezia and the hurly
burly of everyday life offering us the opportunity of finding a
natural oasis of peace and quiet between water and sky.
The seasonal mild climate permits
the year round growth of plants and flowers showing off their best
and perfuming the air making for an unforgettable environment. The
local cuisine which keeps faith with the natural surroundings, offers
traditional old time proven recipes using loacal aromatic herbs,
pesto for handmade pasta, fresh fish and not to be forgotten, the
‘sciachetra’’, an optimum local wine coming from
the terraces which are characteristic of the steep mountains which
fall straight into the sea.
